Are Urban Outfitters prices worth it?

Hello and welcome to my second blog post. This will be a special edition mainly aimed at students, but nevertheless, everyone should have a read as most people do have students in their lives.

The High Street shop being analysed today is Urban Outfitters!

Opening times-

Mon-Sat- 9.30am-6.30pm
Sun- 11.00am- 6.00pm

This shop is again situated centrally on 157 Buchanan Street. The building looks small from the outside but has a bright, light up sign which draws a great deal of attention. On my most recent visit, signs advertising 75% off were displayed on the shop windows. This also encourages customers to enter, making it a busy and dominant shop- perfect for my blog!

The shop and the products

Urban Outfitters provides a homely environment when you shop, with the décor being wooden with a bright feel, coming from various fairy lights. The stock is very diverse and provides, clothes, bags, branded shoes from other retailers, homeware, and other random products. This shop of very “up with the times” and stocks what is up and coming/ already popular. For example, with the rise of festivals and holidays starting back up this year, disposable cameras have become trendier. Thus, Urban Outfitters has catered to this and offers a range of them along with reusable film cameras. Their sizes of clothes run from XXS-XXL which is a broad range- perfect for all shoppers!

Discounts

This is an expensive, high-quality shop which doesn’t seem like a student’s cup of tea, however there are many options in place to avoid breaking the bank. First of all, Urban Outfitters offers a 10% student discount all year round! Simply show your student card at the till and you’re ready to go. Furthermore, they also do windows of higher discounts like 20% off between 2pm and 5pm on chosen days. These are very effective as it is core times when students will be around, encouraging them to visit the store. Every time I have visited this shop there has been a very generous amount of sale racks as can be seen in the picture I took, so you can always catch a bargain if you keep your eyes peeled! Discounts on specific designs are also in place. For example, as soon as I entered the shop there was signs for £5 off ‘josie tops’. These tops aren’t greatly suitable for winter which is the reason they are discounted; however, they are perfect for clubbing or saving them for the warmer weather. Thus, this altered price is worth it.

Value for money

This is the type of shop that even with a discount, it’ll still be expensive. However, it is a positive investment purchasing from here due to the high quality of the products. You can find staples from good brands which will constantly be worn all year round. Therefore, even though I think the prices are slightly high, you make up for it with how often the items can be worn!

Rating

Overall, I will rate this shop a 9/10.

With the prices alone, the rating would be much lower- perhaps a 6 or 7. However, the vast amounts of discounts offered majorly raises the rating. Let’s face it, even if it’s still expensive, it feels cheap with a discount!

Additionally, the range of products and the overall ambience of the shop cannot be faulted which is why the rating stands so high.
